Our mission

The mission of Bivona Child Advocacy Center is to coordinate and provide services and support to meet the needs of child victims of sexual or physical abuse and their families at a single and safe, child-friendly facility. The Center is committed to reducing trauma, promoting accountability, fostering healing, and advocating on behalf of child victims of sexual and physical abuse.

Our vision

That every child has access to the services of a children’s advocacy center.

Bivona Summit on Child Abuse

Join us April 23 & 24, 2013 for our annual Bivona Summit on Child Abuse, a multidisciplinary training conference for professionals. The Summit offers a comprehensive program at an affordable price, presented by national, regional and local experts in their field. Board Member

Kristin Vanden Brul

Development Committee Co-Chair

Kristin Vanden Brul has been selling real estate in the Greater Rochester region for over 25 years. She started her real estate career with Judy Columbus Real Estate Inc. The company was later sold to Peter Hunt of Buffalo, NY. She is currently a Broker Associate with Hunt ERA Columbus Division. In 2001, Kristin opened Wine Sense, a wine boutique on Park Avenue in Rochester, N.Y. She sold the business in August, 2010.

Kristin obtained a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Denison University in 1983. She completed her junior year at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Kristin has been an active member of many community organizations and participated in a number of charitable events including: Chairperson for Garth Fagan Dance 20th Anniversary Gala; President & Founding Member of the Averill Council at the Memorial Art Gallery; Rochester Area Foundation Evening Out at Home Committee and Camp Good Days & Special Times Auction Committee. Kristin is currently a member of the Board of Trustees at Our Lady of Mercy High School and has served as co-auctioneer of Bivona Child Advocacy Center’s “Open That Bottle Night” fundraiser since its inception.

Kristin Vanden Brul resides in Brighton with her partner, Mary Kay Hayes.
