LaMont Thomas
Currently LaMont is a Corporate Officer and Vice President of the Winfield Group, a Commercial Insurance operation with multiple locations in New York State.
LaMont has a well-rounded business background where he was in charge of sales for Zurich Direct Underwriters Western New York and New York’s Southern Tier regions.
Prior to that, LaMont ran his own Business Consulting firm-helping small to medium sized businesses integrate people, processes and performance standards. He served as Director of Operations for Technical Documentation, Training, and Marketing Communications for the Eastman Kodak Company. At Harris RF Communications he was the Manager of Customer Support Services where he led the design and development of the first Interactive Multi-Media Technical Manual that included video, sound, text and animation in four languages. At General Electric Company, he was responsible for design and development of logistics and training products for the US Navy’s latest submarine and surface ship combat systems. LaMont served honorably for six years in the US Navy in Acoustic Analysis.
LaMont grew up in Watertown, New York where he graduated from the pubic school system. He is a graduate of the Industrial Labor Relations School’s Management Program at Cornell University and the National University’s Naval Campus Program. He continues to value education and has taken various continuing education and graduate level courses at various Rochester Colleges.
LaMont is active in the local community and is a former Vice President of the Park Avenue Merchants Association and former board member of The Rochester City School District’s Advisory Board for Career and Technical Education. He attends with his family The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where he formerly served as a board member and treasurer of the church’s Parish Counsel. He is also a strong supporter of the Rochester Greek Festival.
LaMont is married to Christine (Panarites) Thomas of Fairport, NY. They have two children Nicholas Henry and Sophia Ellen. The family resides in Walworth, NY.
